PRIVACY, WITHOUT THE FOG
Local storage.
Connected intelligence.
KEORIS keeps application records on your PC. The developer build also runs work through your signed-in Claude Code and Codex installations. Those connected workflows send prompts and the context they use to their providers. Local storage does not mean every feature works offline.
What KEORIS stores on your computer
- Tasks, notes, memories, routines, schedules, and approved-folder settings.
- An activity history of what KEORIS did, capped at the most recent 2,000 entries. Older entries are dropped, not archived.
- The local assistant's rolling plain-text conversation record, kept for roughly two days so you can recover recent answers. Bot Room conversations and developer job records are separate.
- Bot Room prompts, memories, and conversations. A bot using Claude or Codex still sends the context used for that turn to its provider.
- Developer job records and summaries. Full coding-agent conversations remain in the history managed by Claude Code or Codex; those tools also have their own data handling.
- Speech transcription through the local speech engine after its models download. Saving an idea transcribes it on your PC and does not send it to an AI model. A spoken request sent to Claude or Codex does send the resulting text.
- Your source files and project folders remain on disk. When a coding agent reads them for a job, their contents can become part of the context processed by a connected provider.
Local does not mean encrypted. Application data and recent conversation records are ordinary files protected by your Windows account. Anyone with access to that account may be able to read them.
What downloads during setup
Local voice and model setup can connect to third parties to retrieve software and model files. Download services receive the normal network requests needed to deliver those files.
- Python 3.12 when it is missing, normally through Windows Package Manager.
- The openWakeWord “Hey Keoris” model and a faster-whisper speech-recognition model.
- The Kokoro neural voice model, downloaded from Hugging Face. Until it is ready, KEORIS can use a built-in Windows voice.
- Ollama and a local language model when you enable the local brain.
The developer workflows also need your installed, signed-in Claude Code or Codex. The subscription connection does not require a separate pay-per-token API key for those runs. It does not remove your provider's plan limits or make the service offline.
When data leaves your computer
| Feature | What connects | What may be sent |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Code and Codex jobs | Anthropic or OpenAI through your signed-in coding tool | Your request, project instructions, file contents read for the job, tool results, and other context used by the agent. This is connected processing, not an offline local model. |
| Assistant chat and Bot Rooms | The brain you select: local model or connected provider | With a connected brain, conversation text, prompts, memories, and relevant context are sent for that turn. Keeping a conversation on disk does not keep its connected processing on disk. |
| Cloud cameras | Ring, Blink, or Google/Nest | Account tokens, camera requests, snapshots, and live-stream traffic required by that provider. |
| Built-in browser | The sites you open; DuckDuckGo for search text | Normal web traffic for pages and searches. The assistant's built-in browser isolates pages from KEORIS files, keys, and controls. Coding-agent browser tools have their own permissions. |
| Job tools and web search | Services used by the coding agent's permitted tools | Search queries, requests, and context needed for the tool you invoke. An optional Codex web-search job uses the provider's search service. |
| Weather and feeds | National Weather Service and feeds you configure | Your configured county or feed requests. |
| Mobile and family calls | Your Tailscale network | Encrypted companion and call traffic between paired devices. |
| Updates | GitHub | A standard request checking whether a newer public release exists. Updates never install automatically. |
Anthropic, OpenAI, and other connected services apply their own data-handling policies and your account settings. This page does not promise a particular retention period or training policy for those providers.
Keys and connected-service secrets
KEORIS uses Windows secure storage when it is available. The OpenAI key refuses to save if secure storage is unavailable. Some other connected-service secrets can fall back to plain text in the local settings file; this is a known limitation and is disclosed rather than hidden. Secrets are excluded from backup exports.
The Claude Code and Codex subscription connections use the accounts already signed in to those tools. Their sign-in credentials are managed by the respective coding tool, separately from KEORIS's optional API-key settings.
Release notifications
When you submit the release-notification form on the live website, your email address is sent to Netlify Forms and stored for Keoris Systems to send you a KEORIS access announcement. Netlify also processes the network request and applies its spam controls. The form does not ask for your name, create a KEORIS account, reserve a licence, or take payment.
The local website preview does not send or save your email address. It displays a preview notice instead of a signup confirmation.
To withdraw your request or ask for removal from the release list, contact steamercook@yahoo.com. Release announcements are sent separately from collecting this request.
Scope and controls
- KEORIS's local assistant does not add analytics, advertising trackers, telemetry, or automatic crash-report uploads. Connected coding tools and services have their own settings and policies.
- A developer job can read or change project files and run commands through the selected coding tool. The local assistant's file-confirmation prompts are not a universal approval gate for those jobs.
- KEORIS adds restrictions to developer jobs, including blocking trading, fax, and messaging tools and confining Codex writes to its assigned project folder. See the Security page for the distinction between assistant controls and coding-agent jobs.
- KEORIS release checks notify you rather than automatically installing an update. Software changes made by an authorized coding job follow that job's permissions.
Deleting your data
Remove connected keys from Settings, delete recent transcript files from the application data folder, or use Backup & Restore before removing the application data folder. Uninstalling removes the program but may leave your data folder so a later reinstall can recover your settings.
Deleting KEORIS's local files does not delete Claude Code or Codex history, or records held by a connected provider. Manage those through the respective tool or provider.
This page describes the developer build and the assistant features identified above. Public release details are still being prepared; this description should be checked against the release before download access opens.
